How do I choose the vehicle I want to use in my job?
Vehicles will be assigned to you by a superior, whether it be a Fleet Manager, Chief, or Supervisor. You are welcome to make a request to your superior to use a certain vehicle, but due to restrictions of how many vehicles are allowed of a type, which vehicles are in use, and where they may be used, you may not be available to use it. There are a few examples to use to keep in mind:
One option is to become a fleet mechanic in your job. Most of the time, you will have the ability to drive any of the vehicles (though some will require a CDL), but keep in mind you will only be able to post yourself transporting them for maintenance, and will most likely not be able to use the vehicle's equipment unless authorized by a superior.
But my superior says the only problem is the vehicle I want is not available for him to give out (fire) or he has all those vehicles in use?
There are going to be drawbacks in some of these decisions, as there are in real life. If your job has used all the vehicles it is allowed, they may be able to buy or trade from a moderator or Admin to get the vehicle you're looking for. In the case of the fire department, let's say your station doesn't employ a Pierce HazMat apparatus, but you want to drive one. It is possible that a different station may have this vehicle in its roster. If so, you may be eligible for transfer.
How do I transfer within my job?
First and foremost, you need to let your superior know of your plans. Going over their head without them knowing will not only upset them, but it can make your transfer less likely, as your superior and the superior where you are transferring must approve. Depending on who you upset, you may even be fired!
How do I get a Certification/Promotion/Transfer, or any sort of transaction that deals with my job?
Talk to a superior officer.
What if I don't like my superior, or he isn't helping me to do what I would like to do?

- Not all Fire Stations have the same vehicles. You may be able to transfer stations if your superior is okay with it. Kepp in mind some vehicles require a certification (CDL levels on Ladder Trucks, EMT Training for Ambulance, HazMat Certification for HazMat Truck).
- Police vehicles are only available based on their use (Highway use Interceptors, City uses Impalas, SWAT uses suburbans). Your transfer here may require promotions, which you will have to work for, especially if the position has been filled already.
- EMS vehicles are based on your position. a First responder is allowed to drive but not use equipment on BLS Ambulances, and are not allowed on ALS ambulances, but a Paramedic may operate any BLS or ALS vehicle.
